Emerging Mobile Design Trends for 2019
Constant education is important for each and every mobile app designer. Doing their homework means keeping fingers on the pulse of the latest UI/UX design trends. Otherwise, their overall work will look poor and outdated. This makes it crucial for each California, New York, Atlanta, Seattle design studio to stay up-to-date with users’ changing needs and top mobile design trends. Each year, our team takes some time to think and analyze how the UI/UX design trends have changed over the previous year. This allows us to predict the direction they are likely to take in the current year. So the following is what we believe will be crucial for mobile design studios to keep in mind for their 2019 projects.
- Different Variations of Motion
Mobile application designers have to compete with a bunch of apps out there available for download. This means that they must catch the users’ attention and hold it for at least a little while. Fortunately, there is a solution that makes it possible. Using motion videos to illustrate new features in an application or to demonstrate how to perform certain in-app tasks is a great way to deliver crucial information more effectively and easily. The same applies to animations as they can demonstrate mostly the same things. At the same time, they are visually even more attractive than videos, and can catch a customer’s eye right away. In addition, the best part about an animation is that it can be led by the customers themselves, making them more educated and loyal. Videos and animations allow for the creation of an outstanding design.
We have already talked about AR in one of our
previous postings. Indeed, it is not new to mobile app design (Pokemon Go is probably the most popular AR-based app of 2016). Designers use AR to build user interfaces that are helpful, practical, functional, and beautiful at the same time. With the release of ARKit 2, we are expecting to see more mobile applications weaving in AR in the current year.
Great news for those who prefer designs with more dimensions than just one. 2018 was the year of material design. Now that it has finally made its way into the majority of applications, the time has come for the return of depth. After many mobile app designers turned to flat design in 2017, we are pretty excited to see this trend picking up steam in the current year! The depth is what makes the UI design look beautiful and unique.
